Last week, C.I.R. taught “A Street Cop’s Perspective on Critical Force Dynamics and Human Factors” at my agency. Let me tell you…In my twenty-plus years in law enforcement, this was the most informative course that I have attended. In today’s environment, it is imperative that law enforcement officers – of all ranks – understand how the physiological and cognitive factors impact performance, perception, and behavior. This class should be mandatory training for EVERY police officer in America – especially if you are investigating use of force cases.
